Can anyone join a chapter?

Only one person per professional specialty is able to join a chapter. If there is a member in the chapter that is the same specialty as you, you would be unable to join. We will, however, refer you to another chapter or allow you to create a new one.

How do you know new members are reliable?

When a member applies to be part of a chapter, they need to have references and be checked by a membership committee. Each new member also must have a sponsor that will interview them.

What if a member gets a referral and does poor work?

If a member gets reported to the membership committee for doing poor work, then both the ethics and membership committee’s will investigate the claim.

What occupations benefit the most from networking?

All occupations could benefit from networking. 

Are members supposed to bring visitors?

You are welcome to bring visitors if they are interested in being a member and are a viable candidate for an open position.

Do ethical rules for certain professions prohibit participation in Stars Networking?

Stars Networking requires its members to abide by the ethical obligations of their professions. In any situation where Stars Networking’s rules could violate ethical codes of the profession, the ethical codes take precedence.

If I specialize in a field within my profession, am I expected to be an expert in all aspects of my profession?

Stars Networking does not allow professionals from working or acting outside the range of their professional abilities. As a member, you will never be expected or required to work outside of your area of expertise.

My profession does not let me directly solicit business. Is Stars Networking still right for me?

Stars Networking’s main goal is to help others improve and expand their business through networking with their peers. Stars Networking provides a method for business people to get to know each other and network.
